Douglas was born in Detroit, Michigan and born again 21 years later in Boston, Massachusetts. After attending Duke University and Boston University, he married his high school sweetheart, Joyce on December 19, 1981.
They moved to London England to start the first foreign mission planting sent out from Boston on July 4, 1982. God blessed that decision and they saw explosive growth in the church and the birth of their first two children, Christopher and Jessica as well as churches planted in India, Singapore, Nigeria, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
After 10 years in London they returned to the states to lead churches in Philadelphia, DC (where they adopted their son from India), and Baltimore.
After an absence of 25 years he returned to serve as an Evangelist for the Boston church in 2007. Douglas also currently serves as the missions director for the Beam Missions Foundation which develops and supports ministry training programs around the world.
